The organizing committee has the pleasure of inviting you to the 2012 NABEC-CSBE/SCGAB joint meeting and Technical Conference on ecological engineering. This meeting and technical conference will take place at the Orillia campus of Lakehead University, located in Orillia, Ontario.
This is the time to relax and develop professionally, socialize with your peers at evening receptions, and contribute to your profession. The technical tours will include opportunities to visit the research farms, greenhouses, and other facilities leading the way in renewable energy.
The Local and Scientific Committees are pleased to announce the preliminary technical program for next Technical Conference. The Conference will present more than 90 oral presentations, 35 posters and 4 workshops related to our theme “Ecological Engineering”.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet and learn from our Keynote Speakers:

Helmi Ansari, Director of Sustainability and Productivity, PepsiCo Foods Canada, Mississauga on "Sustainable Production Program at Frito Lay"

Hotel reservations: A limited number of rooms at 2 nearby hotels (both < 3 km to the campus) have been reserved for conference attendees. These are at a discounted rate. The Best Western Mariposa Inn has 60 rooms and the Comfort Inn has 30 rooms.
Both hotels will hold these rooms for conference attendees until early June after which they will be released to the general public at the standard rate.
Book your rooms now to ensure you get these discounted rates. Identify yourself as being with the group reservation for NABEC/CSBE.
Lakehead University residence: Accommodation is also available in the residences at the university. These are single bedrooms each of which shares a bathroom with one other bedroom. Presently, there is no limit on the accommodation here.
It’s not too late to submit your abstract for the NABEC-CSBE/SCGAB 2012 conference in Orillia, Ontario, July 15-18! The deadline for submission has been extended to Friday, 10 February 2012.
Upload your abstract to the conference website (http://www.bioeng.ca/nabec-csbe2012). You may choose one of three formats: a full oral presentation (15 min), a technical short presentation (10 min), or a poster. Graduate students may enter the Student Competition – it’s a great experience and you could win money for a top presentation.
