The Armand BLANC prize is awarded to students and young members under 30 years of age for presenting excellent papers at a CIGR World Congress. This award commemorates Prof. Armand Blanc, former Head of the Institut National Agronomique, Paris, France who was President of CIGR from 1950 to 1962.
A review committee will evaluate full-length papers submitted by participants who are less than 30 years of age as of January 1, 2010 (born since January 1, 1980). For the upcoming 17th CIGR World Congress in Quebec City, young members are invited to fill out and submit the form below to confirm their interest in participating in the competition for the Armand BLANC prize.
Besides the age requirement, participants are required to have uploaded a full-length paper by the deadline (February 20, 2010) on the official template. They are also expected to be pre-registered as all other presenters to confirm their participation. The evaluation is based on the quality of the written paper. The prize is available independently of the format presentation at the Congress (oral or poster).
Yes, I am interested in participating in the competition for the Armand BLANC prize.

Each abstract is limited to 250 words. An abstract is indicative of the final paper quality. Therefore, authors are urged to prepare a well written, clear and informative abstract describing the work with emphasis on objectives and factual results. An abstract should include key words related to conference topics.
In the submission form, authors are asked to indicate their preference for an oral presentation (15-20 minutes) or a poster. The scientific committee will try to satisfy each author’s first choice. The Congress will include several periods for poster viewing to facilitate exchange and discussion. Authors are encouraged to comply with submission deadlines and to ensure that their paper proposal is relevant to conference topics. Authors will be notified automatically of their submission. A review and decision concerning acceptance should be received within four weeks after submission.
Once an abstract is accepted, the author is expected to prepare a full paper. A maximum of 10 pages is recommended for the paper on standard paper (216 mm by 279 mm), including tables and figures. Full papers will be due by December 15, 2009 for the International Drainage Symposium and by February 20, 2010 for all other groups and conferences.
Final submission procedure
After your abstract approval, you are invited to submit a full paper (all tracks except AEES) or a final abstract (for AEES) using the CIGR 2010 paper template (MS Word). Please follow the format described in the template. This file will be included in the abstract proceedings.
