CIGR 2010 World Congress: January 2010 Update PDF Print E-mail

Dear Colleague,

The local organizing committee of CIGR 2010 wishes you a happy New Year and a fruitful collaboration with the upcoming 17th World Congress of CIGR scheduled next June 13-17, 2010 in Quebec City, Canada.

Most of the recipients of this email are authors or co-authors of volunteer papers submitted at the Congress.  We received over 920 abstracts whose summary can be found on the web site (www.cigr2010.ca) under “Papers”, “Accepted Papers”.  Several authors have already uploaded their revised abstract or full paper on the web site.  The full-length paper is not mandatory (except for the International Drainage Symposium), but highly recommended for all technical sections to disseminate your work.  Each author should minimally complete the official template with a revised version of the abstract by February 20, 2010.  The template is downloadable at the following link:

http://www.bioeng.ca/cigr2010/docs/CIGR2010-papertemplate.doc

The revised abstract or full paper can be downloaded by logging in, choosing the “Author” option, selecting the appropriate file to upload and following the instructions.

To confirm a presentation, authors must pre-register at the Congress.  If your presentation is in the oral program, the deadline for pre-registration is February 25, 2010.  If your paper is in the poster program, the deadline for pre-registration is April 1, 2010.  A full congress registrant (i.e. for all three days) can be responsible for a maximum of two presentations; a daily registrant can be responsible for one paper.  After the deadlines, orphan papers (i.e. without a responsible registrant) will be removed from the program.  It is possible to cancel a registration afterwards, but the Scientific Committee will not be able to easily remove approved papers from the proceedings after February 25 (book of abstracts and proceedings being processed during this time).  For this reason, the normal cancellation fee of $50 will be augmented by an additional $150 fee per paper in the proceedings.  The last date for cancellation is May 15, 2010 (slightly earlier than the previously announced date); this will provide time for the organizing committee to adjust some sessions just before the Congress.

Make sure you obtain your budget approvals in time to meet the pre-registration deadlines.  Participants can register on-line or use the pdf form available at the following link:  http://www.bioeng.ca/cigr2010/docs/RegistrationForm-CIGR2010.pdf

In summary, we look forward to receiving your revised abstracts or full-length papers by February 20, 2010.  Your pre-registration forms and fees are due by February 25 for the oral program and April 1, 2010 for the poster program.  Thank you for your interest in the Congress.
